ZP and TP results declared; Congress emerge victorious in Uttara Kannada

Bhatkal - Congress emerged victorious in Uttara Kannada after the counting of votes ended in Zilla Panchayat elections. Out of 36 ZP seats Congress won 22, BJP 09, JDS 01 while the independents clinched 04 seats.

In Bhatkal out of 04 ZP seats, Congress won 02 seats while BJP and Independents one each.

In Bhatkal TP elections, BJP won 05 seats, Congress 04 while Independents won 03 seats.

Congress and Tanzeem supported Jali ZP candidate Mr Abdul Raheem Shaikh was defeated by Independent candidate Mr Mankal Vaidya by 1576 votes.
