Uttara Kannada records 74.10 % voter turnout despite rainfall in some region

Bhatkal 23 April 2019:(Bhatkallys News Bureau) The polling for 17th Lok sabha election in Uttara Kannada constituency went peacefully and an estimated percentage of 74.10% polling has been recorded despite heavy rainfall in some parts of the constituency. Sirsi assembly constituency recorded highest in the district with a percentage of 78.37% followed by Yellapur and Kumta with the percentage of 77.75% and 77.12% respectively. However, Khanapur stood last  with a polling percentage of 70.68%. The constituency which has an estimated polling percentage of 74.10% has seen an increase of 4.90% compared to previous general election which had recorded the polling turnout of 69.2% . The Current MLAs, Candidates and heads of various organisations were seen at voting booths to caste their vote here. Karnataka in its second phase of election recorded an estimated polling percentage of 68.03%. However, in the state wide Uttara Kannada constituency stood third after Shivamogga ang Chikkodi with polling percentage of 70.46%. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
