Karwar, May 9: In the backdrop of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and India's strong military response under Operation Sindoor, the Uttara Kannada district police have intensified security and surveillance measures to ensure law and order in the region. The police are summoning rowdy sheeters from various police station limits, issuing them strict warnings against indulging in any illegal activity or sharing inflammatory content on social media platforms that could disturb public peace. These preventive actions have been carried out in Sirsi, Banavasi, and Karwar police station limits. Apart from these summons, police teams across the district have also been actively involved in foot patrolling in their respective jurisdictions to maintain a visible presence and boost public confidence. The patrolling is being conducted across all police stations under the guidance of the district leadership. In Gokarna, police personnel have taken additional steps by visiting lodges and resorts, where inspections were conducted to monitor visitors and ensure no suspicious activity is taking place. Uttara Kannada Superintendent of Police M Narayana shared these updates through his official handle on the social media platform X.
