Two ganja peddlers nabbed by police in Sullia

Sullia: Two men have been arrested by police near the Vivekananda circle in the Kasaba village here, for selling ganja. A stock of 1.39 kg of ganja has been seized from the duo by the team led by DCIB (district crime intelligence bureau) police inspector Sunil Y Nayak after they received a tip from a reliable source. The arrested accused are Theerthaprasad (25) and Vinayaka (30). Theerthaprasad is a resident of Kasaba village and has two pending ganja peddling cases against him with the Sullia police. Vinayaka is a resident of Chikkamudnur village, Puttur taluk and has one pending case relating to illegal trade against him at the Puttur police station. The two tried to flee the spot separately - one in an auto rickshaw and one on a motorcycle - when they noticed the police approaching but, they were nabbed. The police then confiscated 1.39 kgs of ganja and the vehicles used for the transport. The accused were then handed over to the Sullia police, along with the items that were confiscated. The police team included Laxman K G, Naryana, Udaya Gowda, Pravin M, Taranath S, Pravin Rai, Shonshah and Suresh. Source: News Karnataka
