Tension Prevailed in Bhatkal as raw meat was found abandoned in a Temple premises

July 17, 2016 | Rizwan Gangavali| Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Tension prevailed in Bhatkal’s Kokti Nagar area when early in the morning a plastic bag containing Raw Meat was found in a Nagabanna Temple, just days after a beheaded skull of cow was found in another locality of the town, Hanuman Nagar. Residents soon turned into angry protestors and took out a protest rally along with enraged Hindu leaders from the crime spot to the Bhatkal town police station where they presented a memorandum to the DySP and demanded the arrest of the people behind this act and stern action be taken on them accordingly. Earlier it was reported, that a person who was performing his religious duties ealy in the morning noticed the bag and alerted the residents, following which Bhatkal town PSI Revathi reached the crime scene with her team and took the bag into her custody for investigation. Later Deputy Commissioner, (DC) and SP visited the town and urged people to maintain peace over the issue. Condemning the incident Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Gen. secretary Althaf Kharuri said, “its an attempt from miscreants to disturb the peace of the town, and police should find those behind it and actions be taken” naga-banna-02
