Team led by PSI Naveen Naik arrests youngster selling ganja in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: Bhatkal Town Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly selling ganja at Mountain Ground in Magdoom Colony and seized 84 grams of the contraband along with a car used in the offence.
The accused has been identified as Abrar Sheikh, a resident of Firdous Nagar in Heble gram panchayat limits of Bhatkal taluk.
According to police, the raid was conducted on June 9 at around 11.30 am after receiving credible information about ganja being sold at the ground. During the operation, police allegedly caught the accused while he was engaged in the sale of the narcotic substance.
Police seized 84 grams of ganja, valued at around Rs 5,000, and a Honda City car worth approximately Rs 5 lakh that was allegedly used in the offence.
The raid was led by Bhatkal Town PSI Naveen S. Naik and other police personnel were also part of the raiding team.
A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police said he was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
