Surathkal tollgate has been canceled: DK MP Nalin Kumar Kateel

Mangaluru: Karnataka BJP President and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on Monday said the controversial Surathkal tollgate was canceled by the Union minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kateel took to his Twitter handle on Monday afternoon and thanked Gadkari and Modi for canceling the tollgate. “The Union Minister had earlier promised to cancel the toll, but now the technical aspect has been cleared.” Kateel wrote in his tweet. The controversial tollgate was in place for several years and had faced several protests and backlashes from the people who time and again had demanded its cancellation.
