State records 99.8% pass in ICSE, 99.04% in ISC

Students from the State have improved their performance in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) class 10 exams this year when compared to last, while the pass percentage in the Indian School Certificate (ISC) class 12 examinations has dipped marginally. The pass percentage of students in Karnataka this year in class 10 is 99.8, which is a marginal increase compared to the previous year’s 99.77. The pass percentage of ISC, at 99.04, is 0.47% lower than that of previous year. Out of 1,356 students from 28 schools in the State who took the class 12 exams, only 13 did not get through. In class 10, only 31 students out of 15,370 in 289 schools did not pass. Karnataka’s pass percentage in the ICSE exams is 1.27% more compared to the overall pass percentage of 98.53 across the country. In the ISC exams, it is 2.57% more than the overall 96.47%. Trends remain same Maintaining the usual trend, girls in the State have done better than boys in both examinations. Girls recorded 99.92% passes, which is marginally higher than boys’ pass percentage of 99.68 in the class 10 examinations. In class 12 examinations, girls recorded 99.71% passes, which is higher than boys’ pass percentage of 98.35. Like every year, southern region recorded the best passes across the country, at 99.64% in class 10 and 98.97% in class 12.
