Stalking case: KaRaVe leader remanded to judicial custody

Udupi: Following his public outing as a stalker, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Honorary President of the Udupi district unit Santhosh Shetty has been remanded to judicial custody till July 28. He was sent to Mangaluru prison after he was produced at the residence of the magistrate of Udupi sessions court.
Shetty is alleged to have misbehaved with a married woman who owns a fancy store. It is alleged that he sent her lewd messages and pressurised her to abandon her husband. The lady did not entertain his advances and told her husband about the same. On Sunday, the couple caught Shetty red-handed and handed him over to the police.
The police have registered a case against the accused under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act as the lady belongs to scheduled caste. The accused's car has been confiscated and an inquiry into the matter is being carried out by Karkala DySP Belliappa.
