Special trains on Konkan Railway route to clear New Year rush of passengers

MANGALURU: Special train will be operated on Konkan Railway route between Kochuveli and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to clear extra rush of passengers during New Year in coordination with Southern Railway and Central Railway. Train 06159 Kochuveli - Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Superfast special train will leave from Kochuveli at 4.30am on December 30. The train will reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 12.40pm the next day. Train 06160 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus - Kochuveli Superfast special train will leave from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 2.20pm on December 31. The train will reach Kochuveli at 8.45pm the next day. The train will halt at Kollam, Kayankulam, Chengannur, Tiruvallai, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Shoranur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Thalassery, Kannur, Kasargod, Mangalore Junction, Udupi, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kumta, Karwar, Madgaon, Karmali, Thivim, Kudal, Kankavali, Ratnagiri, Chiplun, Khed, Roha, Panvel and Thane stations. Train will have 20 coaches. SPECIAL STOPS Service of train 06155 Mangaluru - Chennai superfast special will leave Mangaluru Junction at 10.30am on December 25. It will have stops at Kasaragod (11.15am), Kanhangad (11.35am), Payyannur (12pm), Kannur (12.45pm), Thalassery (1.05pm), Vadakara (1.25pm), Kozhikode (2.20pm), Tirur (3.05pm), Kuttipuram (3.25pm), Shoranur Junction (4.30pm), Palakkad Junction (5.30pm), Coimbatore Junction (6.45pm), Tiruppur (7.35pm), Erode Junction (8.35pm), Salem Junction (9.40pm), Jolarpettai (11.35pm), Katpadi (12.55am on December 26), Arakkonam (1.50am), Perambur (2.40 am) and will arrive Chennai Central at 3.30am. The composition of these train services will have three 2-tier AC coaches, three 3-tier AC coaches, 12 sleeper class coaches and two luggage cum brake van coaches. -TOI
