Sonia Gandhi Rejects Siddaramaiah's Resignation

Bangalore - Congress president Sonia Gandhi has rejected the resignation of Siddaramaiah as the leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly, Union Minister Gulam Nabi Azad said here on Wednesday.
"Gandhi has asked Siddaramaiah to continue in the post," Azad, who is in-charge of Congress affairs in Karnataka, told reporters here.
Siddaramaiah had sent his resignation to Gandhi on September 17 owning moral responsibility for the defeat of Congress in the by-elections held for Gulbarga South and Kadur Assembly constituencies.
While JDS won the Gulbarga seat, BJP wrested Kadur seat from Congress.
