Since Congress president Rahul Gandhi has started campaigning for his party in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will definitely lose power, State unit in-charge of Bharatiya Janata Party Muralidhar Rao has said. Addressing a gathering at the State-level Golla (Yadava) convention held on the premises of Shridevi Medical College in Tumakuru on Friday, he alleged that Mr. Siddaramaiah was ‘sleeping’ in the last four years but his government is on a foundation stone laying spree at the fag end of its tenure and when elections are round the corner. He said “I wonder what Mr. Siddaramaiah was doing all these years. Didn't he have time to lay foundation stones for development works?” He criticised the State government for celebrating Tipu Jayanti but not the birthday of M.Visvesvaraya or Sangolli Rayanna. Talking about the lakes in Bengaluru, Mr. Muralidhar Rao alleged that lakes are literally burning due to the apathy of the State government. He alleged that people are being murdered in Udupi, Mangaluru and Bengaluru for being Hindu and shouting slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” State president of BJP B.S. Yeddyurappa assured the gathering that Kaadu Golla will be included under Scheduled Tribes category and his government would give Rs.1 crore to the Yadava mutt in the state within three months of coming to power in the State. MP Shobha Karandlaje, former MP G.S. Basavaraj, leaders of BJP M.R. Hulinayakar, Poornima Srinivas, B.T. Srinivas, and G.N. Bettaswamy were present. Former Minister and senior BJP leader Sogadu Shivanna did not attend the convention. Source: The Hindu
