New Delhi: Sanjay Dutt begins the final phase of the 20-year-long saga that saw him charged with illegal arms possession in the 1993 Bombay blasts. The actor has surrendered in a TADA court in Mumbai, from where he will be taken to the Arthur Road jail. From there, he will be moved to Pune's Yerawada Jail to begin the 42 months left of the five-year jail term he was handed by the Supreme Court.
On March 21, the Supreme Court delivered a final verdict on the Bollywood actor's part in the bomb blasts that ripped Mumbai apart in 1993. Dutt, who was sentenced to six years in jail in 2007, had his sentence reduced by a year. He has already served 18 months of his sentence.
