The State government on Friday told the Karnataka High Court that it is planning to re-introduce use of revenue stamps. Advocate-General Ravivarma Kumar made a statement in this regard during the hearing of a PIL petition. He said the State Cabinet would discuss the matter after taking a final decision. The court, during earlier hearing, had questioned how the State could ban revenue stamps, use of which was governed through a Central legislation. Revenue stamps were banned in the State after the stamp paper racket was unearthed. -The Hindu
