Recovery of dead body sparks tension in Murdeshwar; Situation under control

Bhatkal/Murdeshwar - Recovery of woman's dead body from a firewood shelter belonging to Muslim sparked tension in a temple town of Murdeshwar today morning (Oct 24). As the news spread, a group of miscreants started pelting stones and attacking other community people. They also damaged several shops and a mosque. On sensing danger, local police imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 and brought the situation under control.
According to the sources, at Dodalli near Nakhuda Mohalla where both Hindu and Muslim houses are side by side, a woman's dead body identified by Yamuna (20) was recovered from a firewood shelter belonging to Mohammed Sadique Donna. The woman was a maid in the same house since from 4 years. She was reportedly missing from past 3 days. The house from where the dead body was recovered was also locked since from 4 days as the occupants of the house were went to attend a marriage.
As the news spread, violent mob started gathering at the place and started damaging properties belonging to Muslim community. They blamed house owner for her murder. On the other hand, Muslims blamed Hindus for her murder. They also said, as the house was locked miscreants had raped, murdered and dumped her dead body at Muslim house to trap house owner Sadique.
When bhatkallys.com reporter reached there in the after-noon, he saw a huge mob involved in damaging the properties belonging to Muslim community. However after arrival of SP Raman Gupta and Bhatkal DySP, the situation was brought under control and the mob was dispersed.
On this occasion members of Bhatkal Tanzeem including President Badrul Hassan Muallim, General Secretary SM Syed Parvez, Municipality President Inayatullah Shabandri and several others went to Murdeshwar as a part of peace mission.
