Bengaluru, May 27: Member of Parliament for Hassan, Prajwal Revanna, who is accused of sexual harassment and obscene video making, has resurfaced via a video message after a month.

Revanna has released a 2.20-minute video purportedly from an overseas location. In the message he has stated he will appear before the SIT, which is investigating the case against him, on May 31.

In the video, Revanna states, “My decision to travel abroad was made prior to these accusations. I apologise for not providing information about my whereabouts in the overseas country. When I cast my vote and left the country, no accusations or cases had been filed against me. Even the SIT had not been formed. It was pre-decided that I would travel abroad on April 26. However, a few days after arriving in the overseas country, I became aware of the matter through a YouTube news channel. Subsequently, the SIT also issued a notice to me. I requested seven days' time from the SIT through my lawyer to appear for questioning. During this time, various political leaders have made false accusations against me, which caused me immense distress. Certain vested interests, unable to tolerate my political ascent, have conspired against me.”

Prajwal Revanna also responded to an appeal made by his uncle H D Kumaraswamy, who is also son of former PM Deve Gowda, stating, “I seek forgiveness from my parents and grandfather. I also extend my apologies to JD(S) party workers and the public.”
