Praja Pragathi Ranga Bangalore Divisional convention held at Chickaballapura

Chickaballapura - 16 June, 2012: Praja Pragathi Ranga(PPR), the People's Progressive Alliance or the third front of Karnataka was formed on 14-April-2012, the birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Social Democratic Party of India along with Republic Party of India(RPI), Bahujana Samaj Party(BSP), Lok Janashakti Party(LJP), Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha, Welfare Party of India, Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha, Samata Sainika Dala, Popular Front of India, Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha Samiti, Alemaari budakattu mahasabha, All India Christian Council, Dalit-Christian Vakkoota, Dalita Sene and many other political parties, social service organizations & activists have joined hands to form the people's progressive front called Praja Pragati Ranga.

Today, PPR organized a Bangalore divisional convention at Ambedkar Bhavan, Chickaballapura between 1 & 3 PM. There was a rally organized at 11:00 AM from the IB to Ambedkar Bhavan. This was attended by Mr. Kodihalli Chandrashekhar of the Rajya Raitha Sangha, RPI State President Mr. M Venkataswamy, Mr. Abdul Majeed Karnataka State President of Social Democratic Party of india, Mr. R Mohan Raj, Mr. Dhanraj from BSP, Mr. C S Dwarakanath the ex chairman of backward classes, Mr. Abdul Hannan, SDPI Karnataka State General Secretary, Mr. Afsar Pasha, SDPI Karnataka State General Secretary apart from others.

Addressing the gathering Mr. Kodihalli Chandra Shekhar of the Rajya Raitha Sangha, in the light of Rs. 55 Crores changing hands in cross voting appealed to dissolve the assembly. He also spoke about the horse trading and resort politics where the MLAs were taken to Goa, Hyderabad, He also pointed out corruption at various levels & appealed to the gathering to work towards positive politics.He threw light on the loss faced by the farmers due to the delayed monsoon.

Mr. Abdul Majeed SDPI threw light on the Rs 40 lakh which was exchanged in the election in Tumkur. He said that the BJP government had cheated the 6 Cr or 6.5 Cr people of Karnataka. The MLAs, against the constitution of India, had done cross voting & horse trading. If there is any leadership with integrity then it is PPR. We are writing new history. Whether it is BJP, Congress or Janata Dal(S), everyone is following a divide & rule policy. PPR is the only front which is focusing on equality & justice. We should clean the politics. He appealed to the gathering of farmers, backward classes, minorities & others to join hands & stay united to write new history. PPR will definitely focus on integration of all the people rather

Mr. C S Dwarkanath addressing the gathering said PPR is working towards alternate politics. Congress has been ruling for over 60 years. We have seen how they have taken us for a ride, whether it is a Christian, dalit, backward classes or Muslims. He said that the Congress has been lying all through. He threw light on the fraud of the Congress in Andhra Pradesh where they gave reservation for the Muslims. He asked whether the Congress did not have any legal advisors who could tell them that it will not be permitted by the law? Why are they cheating? They only want to show that Congress wants to give the reservation to the Muslims to gather votes and nothing else. He said that the principles of PPR are nothing but the constitution of India. He questioned, what has the government given to Chickballapur but for the status as district. But till date, over 5 years now, they have not even given an office of the district head quarters. He appealed to the gathering not to be carried away by the roomers to divide the communities and asked all the people to work as one team even though they come from 17 different parties & organizations.
