Peace Meeting held at Bhatkal Police Station ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi

Bhatkal: In anticipation of the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebration scheduled for September 18, a peace meeting was convened at the Bhatkal Police Station on Wednesday. The primary aim of the gathering was to ensure that the festival is observed peacefully and in an orderly manner across the taluk. The public was urged to abide by the law and partake in the festivities in a harmonious and law-abiding manner.
Deputy Superintendent of Police for Bhatkal Sub-Division, K. Shrikant, emphasized the importance of celebrating the festival with decorum. He reminded attendees of the strict instructions issued by the Supreme Court regarding the use of microphones and DJ equipment during such events. Shrikant clarified that these regulations must not be violated, and the use of microphones should only occur with proper authorization and within defined limits.
Local police officers who were present at the meeting urged the community to refrain from taking matters into their own hands and to celebrate the festival peacefully while showing respect for one another. They also encouraged residents to promptly report any disturbances or issues to the police department.
In addition to law enforcement officials, the meeting was attended by Shekhar Pujari, Officer of Hescom, Manjappa, the Chief Officer of Jalipatan Panchayat, and several other police authorities. Various community leaders actively participated in the meeting, which concluded with vote of thanks from PSI Shridhar Naik of the Rural Police Station.
