Paresh Mesta murder case; CBI team finds CCTV near crime spot was switched off before crime, temple authorities under scanner

Honnavar 20 October 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A new twist has come to the fore in the mysterious Paresh Mesta murder case of Honnavar, which led to communal violence in the Uttara Kannada district last year, according to the reports CBI team which is investigating the case has found that the CCTV camera near the crime spot where Paresh's body was found had been switched off before the murder. Sources further added that the camera which is located near Shani Ishwar temple, has its recorder in the temple premises in a locked room and that the key members of the temple executive committee only has access key to the room, which has now brought the temple authorities under the scanner of investigating CBI team. Reports add that the CBI is now investigating into this direction and is trying to find out why was the camera switched off before the murder, while also investigating possibility of involvement of temple authority member or the key was forged to be misused. "CBI has already recorded statements of a few temple authorities and the further investigations are underway" a source close to the development added. Right wing organisations which had sensationalised the murder case after which the district was gripped by a series of communal violence, is mum over the issue and has not come up with any statement to clear it's stand as of now.
