Official mourning declared after RAK ruler dies

RAS AL KHAIMAH - President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent his condolences after His Highness Shaikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah died at dawn today in Ras Al Khaimah.
The Dubai, Ajman, Sharjah, Fujairah and Umm Al Qaiwain Ruler's Courts have also offered their condolences on death of the RAK ruler.
One week's official mourning has been declared in Dubai, Ajman, Sharjah, Fujairah and Umm Al Qaiwan with effect from today during which flags will be flown at half-mast. Government offices in Sharjah will be closed for three days from tomorrow. Local government offices will be closed for three days from today in Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al Qaiwan.
The Ras Al Khaimah Ruler's Court offered condolences on the death of Shaikh Saqr. Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, who has succeeded as Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, has declared 40 days of official mourning with effect from today. Local government offices in Ras Al Khaimah will be closed for a week from today.
