Men from Bhatkal town held with fake currencies

BANGALORE: The CCB police arrested two Bhatkal based men and recovered Rs 19 lakh worth counterfeit currencies of Rs 1,000 denominations from them. The accused are FazalurRehman, 36, and Mohammed Fahad, 32, both residents of Bhatkaltown. The accused duo were arrested while they were trying to circulate the counterfeit currencies in JC Nagar, Bangalore, police said. Fazalur Rehman was arrested in 2012 under similar charges. "Fazalur confesses to have purchased them from a person in Nepal. Further he told that these counterfeit currencies had come from Pakistan," CCB police said. Police also recovered a Honda Activa and five mobile phones from the accused.   TOI
