Bhatkal: The annual general meeting of Markazi Khalifa Jamaathul Muslimeen was held at Khalifa Jamia Masjid on Friday night.

The meeting included the presentation of the Jamaath's annual report and financial accounts. Religious scholars who addressed the gathering spoke about protecting family values, addressing social issues and guiding young people in the right direction.

The Jamaath's Chief Qazi, Maulana Khwaja Moinuddin Akrami Madani, said marriage was not merely a social custom but a sacred responsibility. He advised parents to provide children with proper religious, moral and family-life education before marriage.

He said girls should be encouraged to develop patience and wisdom and to respect their husbands and in-laws. Boys, meanwhile, should be brought up to respect their wives' rights and treat them with kindness and fairness.

He also urged couples not to allow minor disagreements to lead to divorce and advised them to resolve differences through discussion, patience and compromise.

Speaking about young people, Maulana Khwaja warned them against drugs, immoral activities, illegal acts and unlawful sources of income. Such activities, he said, could not only damage their future but also lead to legal problems and create divisions within families.

He also called upon the youth to respect the laws of the country and stay away from illegal activities.

Deputy Qazi Maulavi Ayman Ali Nadwi, Vice-President Dr Zubair Kola and President S.M. Syed Mohiuddin Market also addressed the gathering.

Vice-President Mohtisham Mohammed Hashim welcomed the gathering. General Secretary Ismail Jubapu presented the annual report, while Finance Secretary Maulavi Ismail Anjum Gangavli Nadwi presented the accounts.

Maulavi Tafheem Siddiq Nadwi and Maulavi Hasan DF Nadwi compered the programme.
