Mangaluru-Kuwait direct flight service likely to resume in Oct

Mangaluru, Sep 22: The Mangaluru-Kuwait direct flight service, which has been suspended for the past six months due to the war, is likely to resume soon.

According to information available, Air India Express is preparing to restart direct flights between Mangaluru and Kuwait in the last week of October as part of its winter schedule.

As per the available information, Air India Express will operate three flights a week between Mangaluru and Kuwait from October 27, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Following the outbreak of the Iran-Israel and US war on February 28, air connectivity with Gulf countries had largely been suspended. However, as the intensity of the war reduced, flights to most countries resumed. The Kuwait service, however, had not resumed. Before the war, three Air India Express flights operated weekly between Kuwait and Mangaluru.

During the war, Kuwait airport was damaged in a missile attack. Although the airport was subsequently repaired, until very recently, only Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways were operating flights there. Foreign airlines are now gradually resuming their services.
