Mangalore: New DC Subodh Yadav assumes office

Mangalore - Subodh Yadav assumed office of the district deputy commissioner (DC) here on Saturday October 23, following the recent transfer of his predecessor V Ponnuraj to Shimoga.

Headquarters assistant to DC Prabhakar Sharma welcomed Yadav at the DC's office.

Yadav belongs to the 1999 batch of IAS officers and had served in the district as the CEO of zilla panchayat some years ago.

Lauding the efforts of V Ponnuraj, Yadav assured that he would carry on the ongoing and proposed development projects in the district and will need a week to take stock of the situation before taking any major decision.

Hailing from Kanpur in UP, Yadav has rendered his services across the state. This is his fifth stint as DC, the four earlier being Kodagu, Chikkaballapur, Bangalore south division and Gadag. He also has the distinction of holding the post of private secretary in union ministry of law and justice.
