Man on trial for stealing cancer drugs worth Dh1.2m in Sharjah

The Sharjah Police have arrested an Arab man for allegedly stealing cancer medicines worth Dh1.2 million from a warehouse in the Sharjah industrial area. The police also arrested four other Arab men in connection with the case. The first suspect, who was happened to be a driver at the warehouse, has been charged with theft, breach of trust and selling stolen items. The police immediately formed a team for investigation which resulted in identifying all suspects. The team managed to detect activities of suspects of same Arab nationality who were illegally selling the medicines. Two drug companies bought the stolen medicine from the suspect without any sale documents.  The arrested four people confessed that the driver had stolen the medicine from the warehouse and he sold it out to them and the two companies. The officials of two drug companies confessed that they bought the stolen item from the driver. Col Al Ajill urged the owner of the companies and warehouse to secure their premises and follow safety procedures and avoid stolen items which could lead to legal action.
