Major Urdu works go online In India

New Delhi - 23 Sep 2011: The promotion of Urdu got a major boost on Tuesday when the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) put online one million pages of writings by Ghalib, Maulana Azad, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Krishna Chander, Kaifi Azmi and Bekal Utsahi, besides hundreds of others. The collection includes books, manuscripts and Urdu magazines like Naqoosh, Khilauna, and Siyara.
