Mahfil-e-Sher-o-Adab organises Mushaira in Bhatkal

Bhatkal, 22 May: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A literary gathering and tarahi mushaira organised by Mahfil-e-Sher-o-Adab was held at the hall of Madina Welfare Society, where scholars and poets highlighted the importance of mushairas in preserving cultural and literary traditions.

 

Speaking as the chief guest, Maulana Maqbool Ahmad Kobatte Nadwi said mushairas are an inseparable part of cultural heritage, and tarahi mushairas in particular provide an opportunity to understand the depth of thought and literary approach of different poets through a single given line.

 

He appreciated the literary activities being conducted by Mahfil-e-Sher-o-Adab and described them as a valuable contribution to Bhatkal’s literary environment.

 

Introducing the objectives of the programme, Maulana Syed Ahmad Salik Nadwi spoke about the organisation’s activities and expressed happiness over the participation of a large number of young poets.

 

Salik Nadwi also said that if the younger generation continues to contribute to literature and poetry, it would play a major role in preserving cultural heritage.

 

The tarahi mushaira featured several noted poets from Bhatkal. This year’s tarah line was taken from renowned Urdu poet Rakhsan Abdali: “Kisi ki yaad abhi tak dil-e-tabah mein hai.”

 

Poets including Iqbal Saeedi, Ibn Hasan, Raif Kola Nadwi, Suhail Arshi, Shuqran Ghazi Nadwi, Syed Ahmad Salik Barmavar Nadwi, Mohammed Ali Kola and Rahmatullah presented their compositions during the event.

 

Later, Maulvi Abdul Hafeez Khan Nadwi was felicitated for being awarded a PhD degree by Kuvempu University for his research thesis on Urdu travelogues of South India.

During the felicitation ceremony, the organisation honoured him with a shawl and presented a citation. Presenting the citation, vice-secretary Maulvi Bashar Ruknuddin Nadwi congratulated Abdul Hafeez Nadwi and conveyed his best wishes.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Hafeez Nadwi briefly shared details of his academic journey and appreciated the literary and poetic activities conducted by Mahfil-e-Sher-o-Adab.

 

The programme had begun with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Syed Hamdan Barmavar.

 

The event concluded around 11 pm with refreshments for guests and a vote of thanks delivered by Maulvi Shuqran. A large number of literature enthusiasts and audience members attended the programme.
