Madikeri couple offers land to flood victims

Madikeri: The deluge that battered the Kodagu district in the previous week has rendered several homeless and with nothing to call their own. While everyone is doing their bit to help the flood victims put their lives back together, a couple in Madikeri has shown that in the face of crisis, a hero is one who stands up for others, even as he manages his own pain. A Girijana couple from Yavakapadi here has become a great example by donating two out of three acres of their land, for those who were rendered homeless by the recent disaster. Poonacha and his wife do not have any children of their own and hence, they have offered to take care of the children who have been orphaned in the recent catastrophe.
