Konkan railways add another train on Bengaluru-Murdeshwar route

Bhatkal: 17 September,2023 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The Konkan Railway Express, Train No. 16586, which operates from Mangaluru Central to Bengaluru, is undergoing a significant route adjustment. The train will now commence its journey from Murdeshwar at 2:10 PM, proceed to Bhatkal, and reach its destination in Mysore at 3:15 AM, ultimately concluding its route in Bangalore at 7:15 AM. This revised schedule will be effective seven days a week, commencing from its inaugural run today.

Conversely, the return journey, Train No. 16585, will depart from Bangalore Sir Vishwaswariya Terminal at 8:15 PM, arriving in Mysore at 11:30 PM and Mangalore at 8:55 AM. Subsequently, the train will depart from Mangalore Central at 9:20 AM, reaching Bhatkal at 12:56 PM, and finally concluding its journey in Murdeshwar at 1:35 PM.

This train comprises a total of 19 coaches, encompassing a first-class AC, a two-tier AC, three three-tier AC, nine sleeper coaches, four general coaches, and two SLR coaches.

The initiative to introduce this modified train route was spearheaded by the Uttara Kannada Railway Samiti and Kundapur Hitarkashna Samiti.
