Karwar: Man, wife verbal spat turns ugly - Mother throws 6-yr-old kid into canal

Karwar, May 5: A verbal spat between a wife and husband turned ugly turning into a disaster in which their child lost its life.

Tragedy occurred at Halamaddy village of Dandeli in Uttara Kannada district. In a heated argument with her husband, the wife threw their six-year-old child into a canal and informed the same to the locals.

The locals brought this matter to the notice of the police by informing them about the act.

Dandeli rural police reported at the spot where the child was thrown into the canal and recovered the body of the child. A hand of the child was believed to have been eaten by a crocodile.
