BENGALURU: The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday issued a notice to BJP MLA D Vedavyas Kamath representing Mangaluru South Constituency as well as the State Election Commission. Justice B Veerappa ordered the issuing of notices to them after hearing an election petition filed by the defeated Congress candidate J R Lobo. Lobo has challenged the election of Vedavyasa Kamath on the ground that EVMs were hacked in the recently held assembly elections only to benefit his opponent. In support of his claims, Lobo contended that he was shocked to know that Kamath, who was not a popular candidate, won by 16,000 votes. The court adjourned the hearing to August 16.
