Karnataka Govt. announces post matric fee reimbursement scheme for minority students

Bengaluru: 25 August 2024 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The Directorate of Minorities, under the Department of Minority Welfare, has announced the Post Matric and Merit-Cum-Means Fee Reimbursement Scheme for the academic year 2024-25. The department has issued a notification in this regard on Friday, August 23.  

 

The scheme which is aimed at supporting eligible minority students from Karnataka pursuing higher education begins on August 23, 2024, and the last date to apply is October 31, 2024. The scheme covers students from minority communities, including Muslims, Christians, Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs, and Parsis, who are enrolled in Pre-University College, Diploma, ITI, Graduation, and Post Graduation courses.

 

According to the notification, to be eligible the applicant must belong to one of the aforementioned minority communities and be a resident of Karnataka. In addition, the total family income should not exceed ₹2 lakhs for the Post Matric Fee Reimbursement and ₹2.5 lakhs for the Merit-Cum-Means Fee Reimbursement.

 

Meanwhile, in order to avail of the benefits, students must ensure their Aadhaar is seeded to their bank accounts with NPCI mapping. Additionally, students who availed of the scheme in the previous academic year must reapply to continue receiving benefits.
