Bhatkal: JCI Bhatkal City and JCI Alumni Club, in association with Lifecare Speciality Hospital, will organise a blood donation camp on August 18 in memory of late Dr Suresh Nayak, the organisers said.
The details were announced at a press conference held at Lifecare Speciality Hospital on Friday. JCI Senator, PDM and Zone Chairman Abdul Jabbar, Lifecare Hospital Managing Director Salman Ahmed Jubapu, Dr Naushad and Medical Director Dr Nawab spoke about the importance of blood donation.
The camp will be held from 9 am to 2 pm at Lifecare Speciality Hospital on Jali Road. The organisers appealed to members of the public to participate in large numbers and contribute to the humanitarian cause by donating blood.
The organisers said blood is one of the most important life-saving resources and is required in several medical emergencies, including accidents, surgeries, childbirth, anaemia, cancer treatment and other critical conditions. Timely availability of blood can help save many lives, they said.
Doctors also said healthy individuals can contribute to society by donating blood regularly and that blood donation can have certain positive effects on the donor's health as well.
The camp, being held with the message "Donate blood, save a life", is also intended as a tribute to the service-mindedness of late Dr Suresh Nayak, the organisers said.
JCI Bhatkal City president Mohammed Azeem, Jushadi and other JCI office-bearers and members were present at the press conference.:::
