JCI Cricket cup organised between Media, Police and JCI; Media XI triumphs the tourney

Bhatkal 30 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bhatkal unit on Sunday organised a cricket tournament JCI Cricket Cup 2018, between police department, local media persons and members of their own organisation at the police parade ground on Sagar road here in Bhatkal.
The tournament was played between five teams of which three comprised of the police department and one each of JCI and Media persons.
Two teams of the police department and JCI team were knocked out of the tournament after the knockout stage while one team of police department led by PSI Kusumadhara and Media XI marched into the finals after winning their respecting knockout matches.
In a closely fought low scoring match in the finals, Media XI triumphed the tournament in the super-over after the match was tied with both teams scoring 46 runs in their 10 overs, interestingly both the teams had crossed the 100 run mark in their respective knockout matches of the tournament.
The winners and runners-up were awarded with trophies in a ceremony after the match.
A total of five matches were played between the teams in the tournament that was organised with an aim to bring together the police department, media and the JCI (Social workers) for the betterment of the town and for building mutual connect amongst them.
Bhatkal Dy.SP Valentine D'Souza, CPI Ganesh K, PSI Kusumadhara and others were present during the tournament.
