Irshad Ahmed Kazia arrested in old case

Bhatkal: 10 March 2021 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal Town Police have arrested Irshad Ahmed Kazia who was accused of 3 criminal cases back in 2011 and 2013. The police were on a hunt to arrest the accused since 2011. According to the press release, Irshad flew to the United States in 1998 and after 5 years he surrendered his Indian passport and obtained a US passport under OCI (Overseas Citizen of India).

Excellent work done by Bhatkal police in tracing the accused of an old case Irshad Ahmed who is an OCI holder holding a US passport has non bailable warrants on him related to cases from 2011 and 2013 .He was caught and arrested when he visited India recently.@DgpKarnataka

The report also says that he was in Dubai on a business trip and from there he traveled back to Bhatkal on the 9^th of February 2020. After the issue of an arrest warrant against the accused and obtaining credible information, the Police apprehended him on the 8^th of March. The Uttara Kannada SP, Shiv Parkash Devraju congratulated the efforts of all the police personnel who were engaged in the case.
