Instagram user booked for posting dangerous wheeling videos shot on Bhatkal roads

Bhatkal: The Bhatkal Town Police have registered a case against the administrator of an Instagram account for allegedly performing dangerous motorcycle stunts on public roads and uploading the videos on social media, thereby encouraging others to indulge in similar acts.

The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Police Constable Sachin Yashwantrao Pawar, attached to the Social Media Monitoring Cell of the Bhatkal Town Police Station.

According to the complaint, police, while monitoring social media platforms on June 25, came across videos uploaded on an Instagram account under the username akkihotpiston. The videos allegedly show a rider performing wheelies at different public roads in and around Bhatkal.

Police stated that such acts not only endanger the lives of the rider and other road users but also have the potential to influence youngsters to imitate similar dangerous stunts.

Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at the Bhatkal Town Police Station, and further investigation is underway to identify the person operating the Instagram account.
