INDIA`S INDEPENDECE DAY CELEBRATED IN QATAR

QATAR - A diverse and colourful extravanganza was belatedly orgainised jointly by the Indian Embassy and Indian Cultural Centre to mark the India`s 64th Independence Day celebration. The event was delayed due to the holy month of Ramadhan and Eid holidays.

Among the presentations were patriotic, thematic,cinematic, classical dances and skits highlighting the Indian freedom struggle.
Karnataka Sanghas` Unsung Heros `,choreographed by Milan Arun Kumar recalled the sacrifces made by leaders of the Indian freedom struggle like Arun Asif Ali, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Ambdekar and Lal Bhadur Shastri ,evoked tremendous response. Maharshtra Mandal , Charishma Arts, Qatar Tamizhar Sangham, ICC Dance Class, Friends of Truvalla, Kottayam Districts Arts and Cultural Association, Tulu Koota, North Indian Association, Gujrati and Punjabi Samaj executed their talents to the perfection.

MES Indian School, Birla Public School and Delhi Public School ,also performed semi-classical dance,patriotic music and cinematic musical respectively.

Chief Guest of the program, India Ambassador to the State of Qatar called upon every citizens of india in Qatar to act as an ambassador of their country by upholding the undying values of humility, intergerity and tolerance. She further said Indians have left an indelible imprint throught out the globe by enforcing these virtues taught by our founding fathers.

Marketing Manager of Qatar Fertilizer Company (QAFCO) Ali Ahmed Sanadi also praised Inidans extra-ordinary working capacity in any field that they work.

An Ideal Indian High School Student has also honoured for securing ( 96 percent ) highest marks in science stream of plus twoof CBSC in the State of Qatar who who is presently pursuing medicine in Corneigy Mellon Medical Institute here.

A souvenir to commemorate the occasion was released by the Indian evnvoy and Sanjay Kohili, Minister at the Indian Embassy. Hassan Chugle, Advisory Council Chairman, ICC and K.C. Mathew, President ICC also shared the dias.

The event was concluded with the vote of thanks by Pradeep Bajaj.
