Heavy rains batter Bhatkal; flooding and property damage reported in many areas across town

Bhatkal 21 July 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau)As the heavy downpour continues to batter across the Bhatkal Taluka, normal life has been severely affected while several places have reportedly been flooded due to heavy rain. Bhatkal's landmark Shamsuddin Circle also was flooded due to heavy rain disrupting the Traffic movement on National Highway - 66. Several places of Bhatkal Taluk including Kokti Nagar, Hanifabad, Azad Nagar, Moosa Nagar, Jali Cross also saw stagnation of water and drainage overflow due to heavy rain. Several houses and shops at Downtown region of Taluka were also flooded creating a causing inconvenience to residents. Meteorological department has predicted heavy downpour over next week in the region.
