Shiv Sena now wants the Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayi Yojana to be named after late party supremo Bal Thackeray. Health minister Deepak Sawant has recently written a letter to chief minister asking him to change the name. The CM Devendra Fadnavis has, however, put the proposal on hold. The ambitious scheme was started by the previous Congress-NCP regime in order to improve medical facilities for both below-poverty-line and above-poverty-line families. However, the Shiv Sena, which is in charge of the health department, wants to change the name of the scheme. An official from the health department confirmed the development and said the health minister had written to Mr Fadnavis asking him to make the change. “Nothing has been finalised yet. But he (Mr Sawant) wants to name the scheme after Balasaheb Thackeray,”he said.   Asian Age
