Haj 2024: Saudi Arabia bans visit visa holders from entering Makkah with immediate effect

RIYADH: A fine of 10,000 riyals will be imposed on illegal entry into Makkah during the Hajj season.
In a statement released by the Saudi Ministry of Interior, the punishments for illegal entry into Makkah during the Hajj season were announced. Penalties for illegal entry into Makkah will be enforced from June 2 to June 20. During this period, entering Makkah Mukarmah or holy places will be considered illegal Hajj.

According to the announcement, there will be a fine of 10,000 riyals for entering Mecca illegally. Foreigners will be expelled and blacklisted for violating the law. Taking pilgrims to Makkah without a permit will result in 6 months imprisonment and a fine of 50,000 riyals, while the vehicle of the person taking such pilgrims to Makkah will also be confiscated
