Former imam of Grand Mosque passes away

JEDDAH: Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al-Subayyil, a former imam and khateeb in the Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque) in Makkah, passed away on Monday night, officials said.

He will be buried today after funeral prayers after Asr prayer at the Grand Mosque. Sheikh Muhammad was also head of the Presidency for Two Holy Mosques, and the Council of Senior Scholars, the Islamic Fiqh Council.
