Former army-man from Kerala killed in road accident on NH-66 near Murdeshwar

Bhatkal: A 40-year-old former serviceman from Kerala was killed in a road accident on National Highway 66 near Murdeshwar on Friday.

 

The deceased has been identified as Sagaranath (40), son of Sathvanath and a native of Kerala. Three other occupants of the car sustained injuries and were admitted to a local hospital for treatment.

 

According to police, the car was travelling from Kerala towards Murdeshwar when the driver reportedly lost control near the Murdeshwar railway station on NH-66. The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into an electric pole.

 

The impact of the collision severely damaged the front portion of the car. Sagaranath, who was seated next to the driver, suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.

 

On receiving information, PSI Hanumanth Bhiradar of Murdeshwar Police Station visited the scene along with his staff and conducted an inspection.

 

A case has been registered at Murdeshwar Police Station in this regard.
