Financial awareness session held at Anjuman College Bhatkal

Bhatkal: 4 September 2024 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) An informative session on financial awareness was conducted at Anjuman Arts, Science, and Commerce College, Bhatkal, on September 4, 2024. The event, organized by the Student Welfare Wing of the college, began at 11:15 AM and featured V. Hariprasad, Deputy General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Bangalore, as the key speaker.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Principal Prof. M.K. Shaikh, followed by the recitation of the Qirat. Hariprasad then led the discussion, focusing on the RBI's efforts to promote financial literacy and inclusion. He highlighted initiatives such as the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion (NSFI) and the National Strategy for Financial Education (NSFE), aimed at increasing financial awareness across different segments of society.
Hariprasad also discussed various government schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY), explaining their benefits and importance for social security.
An interactive session followed, where Hariprasad addressed questions from the students and faculty, helping clarify financial concepts.
The event was also an opportunity to commemorate 90 years of the RBI, with Hariprasad announcing an All-India Quiz Competition for students aged 18-25 years to further enhance financial literacy.
Several notable attendees were present, including Satish, Assistant Manager at RBI Bangalore, Ajaz Alam, Manager at Canara Bank, Bhatkal, and Geeta Naik, a Financial Literacy Consultant.
The session concluded at 12:15 PM with a vote of thanks from Prof. Manjunath Prabhu, Head of the Department of Commerce.
