Fed up with potholes, Haneef Abad residents repair road on their own

Bhatkal: After waiting for years for official action, residents of Haneef Abad have taken it upon themselves to repair a badly damaged road in their locality.

The road connecting Jamiaabad Road to Masjid Muniri had been in poor condition for a long time, with large potholes causing problems for motorists, pedestrians and schoolchildren.

The situation became worse during the rainy season as water filled the potholes, making the road dangerous for commuters. Residents said two-wheeler riders faced the most difficulty while travelling along the stretch.

Despite repeated complaints, locals said no permanent repair work was carried out. Frustrated by the delay, residents from the Masjid Muniri area and nearby localities decided to fix the road themselves.

Community members collected funds and purchased cement and other materials required for the work. They then filled the potholes and carried out basic repairs to make the road usable.
