Farmers protest against erratic power supply

Members of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene staged a protest in front of the Bescom office here on Thursday condemning erratic power supply. The protesters alleged that the unscheduled and long power outage has affected agricultural activities and drinking water supply. The students are also suffering due to the frequent power outages, they said. “The farmers are not getting even three hours’ power supply in a day”, KRRS district leader K. Srinivasa Gowda said. The pumpsets are getting spoiled due to frequent power shutdown, the outfits said in a memorandum submitted to the Bescom Assistant Executive Engineer.
