Ex-MLA Mankal Vaidya elected president of Janata co-op society; Sunil Naik secures top post at PLD Bank

Bhatkal 3 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Former Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya has been elected as the president of Janata Co-operative society Bhatkal in a meeting of newly elected executive members of the society while Parameshwar Devadiga has been elected as his deputy.
The position of the president was secured by Mankal Vaidya with no other member contesting for the post, while Parameshwar Devadiga, Parameshwar Naik, Vittal Naik and Nagappa Naik all filed their nomination for the post of vice president but last moment withdrawal of all the other candidates meant automatic elevation of Parameshwar Devadiga as the Vice President of the society.
Mankal Vaidya will take the office of the president of the society for the third term, while Parameshwar has been appointed Vice President for a second term.
Meanwhile Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik bagged the top position in the PLD Bank, while Gayatri Vijay Kumar has been elected as the vice president.
The elections for both the co-operative societies were held on August 19, wherein Congress had secured twelve out of 13 seats at Janata co-operative society while BJP bagged 14 out of 15 seats at PLD bank.
