Etisalat slashes minimum recharge limit to Dh10 from Dh25

UAE telecom provider etisalat has announced that it is bringing down the minimum recharge to Dh10 starting today.
Until now, etisalat users could only recharge for a minimum of Dh25. A message informing users about the new change is being sent out to all customers through SMS.
The message refers to the new service as e-recharge and says customers can use the facility from any of the retailers.
Grocers however are yet to be notified of the new option. A couple of them Emirates 24|7 spoke with were still unaware of the Dh10 recharge option.
According to them the new development will stop the number of freelance re-distributors.
“There are quite a few unemployed men, mostly from Bangladesh who redistribute etisalat and du talk-time for Dh10. Workers, who at times will not have even Dh25, mostly use the service,” says Mahmood of Meher Grocery.
The minimum recharge for UAE’s other telecom provider du is set at Dh20
