Electricity tariff goes up by 13 p/unit in Karnataka

BENGALURU: Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission has increased the electricity tariff by an average of 13 paise per unit across the state including Bengaluru. The ESCOMs proposed a tariff hike of 88 paise/unit. This will be charged from April 1, 2015 which will be reflected in the electricity bills of the consumers from May 1.KPTCL will be allowed to charge a tariff of Rs1,12,079/MW/Unit in the financial year 2015-16 from all the five distribution companies in the state. -TOI
