Dubai Municipality overrun Uniforge Bhatkal in 10th Duslco Ramadan Cricket

Dubai - 07 August 2011: ECAT Dubai Municipality defeated Uniforge Bhatkal CC by six wickets in the 10th Dulsco Ramadan T20 tournament being played at Zabeel Park.

ECAT Dubai Municipality achieved the victory target of 92 in just 12 overs after they had bundled out their rivals in just 19.1 overs.

Khalid Mahmoud was the star performer for the winners, claiming four wickets to set the tone for a well-deserved victory. He got rid of opener Samiullah for no score and then meted out the same treatment to Azeem and Sandeep.

Rayyan was the only batsman who managed to score runs from him as Mahmoud conceded 11 runs for his four scalps.

Disastrous note

Electing to bat first, Uniforge Bhatkal CC began on a disastrous note losing the first wicket without opening their account on the scoreboard. The other opener, Nasrullah, however, scored a patient 49 from 45 balls with the help of three sixes and two boundaries, but missed his half-century when he fell off the bowling of Azhar Ali.

After he departed there was a beeline of batsmen returning to the pavilion, five of them without opening their account. Tail-enders Jalal and Waseem got into double figures with the former getting out on 10 while the latter remained not out on 13.

Mahmoud was the main wrecker for Bhatkal CC's innings as he completed his quota of four overs with four wickets conceding just 11 runs. Azhar and Azhar Ali bagged two wickets each.

With an asking rate of 4.6 runs an over, ECAT Dubai Municipality reached the target without much fuss with Umer Farooq unbeaten on 35. ECAT Dubai Municipality also made a bad start to their reply losing opener Azhar with only six runs on the scoreboard, but his partner Tauseef hit a 22-ball 16.

One down Farooq belted three huge sixes in his 30-ball 35 while Tareq and Umar C added ten runs each as ECAT romped home with eight overs to spare.
