DK achieves 99% census target

MANGALURU: Dakshina Kannada district has achieved 99% of the target in social and educational survey 2015.At a meeting of survey charge-level officers on Monday, deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim said that the survey of 4,30,677 families in the district has been completed. The work is nearing completion and the data entry is in progress. In Dakshina Kannada, there are 3,930 blocks, and the survey will continue till May 5, the DC said. Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission had set April 30 as deadline to complete the social and educational survey. Later, to include families that are left out, the deadline has been extended to May 5. Enumerators have been asked to include all such families during the preliminary round of enumeration, Ibrahim said.
